University students missing after hours of heavy downpour

A final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Doyin Boluwaji has been declared missing  after hours of  heavy downpour.

These was made known to reporters at the scene at Akungba-Akoko, Ondo state. Report shows that after several hours of unfruitful search by residents of the area and rescue operatives.

It was gathered that Boluwaji was said to have been at her residence when the rain started and was the first to raise an alarm and draw the attention of other occupants to the water rising above the window level

While giving an account of the incidents  the occupants of the affected building, Favour Adeleke and David Olasugba said the house became flooded  few hours after the rain started and had to climb the roof for safety before a part of the building collapsed as a result of the heavy downpour.

The duo further said this is the second time the building will be flooded in two years in which the  Landlord had made drainage for easy flow of water.

The Dean Students Affairs, Adekunle Ajasin university, Dr. Olusegun Owolewa who confirmed the incident says, students who are victims of the unwarranted incidents have been asked to relocate to the institutions hall of residence pending the time the semester will be over.

Dr. Owolewa further reiterated that the management is also working on increasing the accommodation of students on campus.

Also speaking, the student union president, Adesumoju Samuel charged the government and the university management to make the welfare of the students their utmost priority.

All efforts to find the missing students proves abortive as at the time of filling this report.
