Nigeria Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila clocks 60


The Nigerian Speaker, RT. Hon. FEMI Gbajabiamila clocks 60 years of age today. The Surulere-born member of parliament has been getting eulogized as he clocks the new age.


Gbajabiamila is the Member representing Surulere constituency 1 of Lagos state at the National Assembly. The former Majority leader is believed to be a protege of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

Gbajabiamila has been in the Nigerian House of Representatives since 2003 representing Surulere constituency 1, he had been a force for entrenching the guidelines and the pillars of Democracy in the country, and he is widely seen as an advanced democrat with his giant strides in essential law passage. 


The Speaker was instrumental to the passage of the much anticipated and now much celebrated Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) which has been on the corridors of the National Assembly for years, with legislative light dim on it, until Gbajabiamila became the Speaker, and working in tandem with the Senate President got the PIA delivered.

As Gbajabiamila clocks 60, it is believed to be a new year of renewed hope, and blessings for the Nigerian people.
