Nigeria Immigration dismiss two staffs over extortion of 14yrs old

Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration service, Isah Jere Idris has approved the dismissal of two officials from the Muritala international airport, Lagos for unprofessional conduct.

This is coming after thorough investigation have being carried out by the agency with report of case of extortion by its operatives on one 14yrs old Nigerian - Canada bound traveler.

You will recall on the 19th of February, 2022 a woman through her Twitter handle voice out the case of this unprofessional conduct, of her child being extorted at the airport without giving her a channel to call, or message anyone as to her appearance at the airport. Instead of that, they extorted her of all her cash holdings and left her to wander, the child upon reaching out to her mum, the mom swing to action and with the good of social media, the agency got the report, to save face they in turn swung into action and there by catching the culprit and place high disciplinary action on them.

Though, the agency has yet to publicly name the officials, we hope they do in the spirit of justice and caution to others who have intention to do same,  in the same light also help the public from engaging them as staff or officials of the agency.
