EKITI DECIDES 2022: All Progressive Congress candidate wins the Governorship election

The Aspirant of the All progressive Congress Biodun Oyebanji, also known as BAO has won the governorship election of Ekiti state.

A resounding victory in an election that was adjudged by local and international organizations, pressmen, citizens, and observers as free, fair, transparent, and credible. The election which started early in all polling units, saw the electorate coming out in their numbers to participate in the electioneering process.

In the early hours of the day, there was a few rain droplet, but the happening never deter the electorate to perform their franchise. Voting started around 8:30 am and ends around 2 pm in some locations where there is less population. In a turn of events, there were cases of vote-buying in some polling units, but the men of Bawa, EFCC operatives caught them, and they are currently in their custody. 

The former Secretary to the State Government won the election with 187,057 votes to defeat his closest rival, Segun Oni candidate of the Social Democratic Party who polled 82,211 votes while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Bisi Kolawole polled 67,457.

There was a considerable turnout of voters, with fewer cases of voting disruption, indicating a free, fair, and transparent election. Those sent to disrupt the election were apprehended by the men of the Nigeria Police force, currently in their custody for briefing.

Congratulations to the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Biodun Oyebanji (BAO), other contestants are enjoined to work hand in glove to lift Ekiti State to enviable heights. Ekiti state with her motto as the 'Land of Honour' needs to preserve the title jealously.

The winner should be magnanimous in victory, runner up candidates should buckle up for future elections.
